2026 WCQ Preview

The 2026 WCQ Preview highlights an intense Group B battle as Sudan and Senegal go head-to-head on Saturday, March 23, 2025. Taking place at Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, Libya, this match will play a key role in shaping the qualification race. Sudan has been impressive under coach James Kwesi Appiah, while Senegal looks to assert its dominance with a star-studded squad.

Sudan Aims for an Upset in the 2026 WCQ

The 2026 WCQ Preview features a Sudan team that has exceeded expectations. With 10 points from four matches, they sit at the top of Group B alongside DR Congo. Sudan’s squad boasts a strong defensive core led by goalkeeper Mohamed Mustafa and captain Ramadan Agab. Meanwhile, Al Hilal’s Mohamed Abdelrahman remains their biggest attacking threat.

A key advantage for Sudan is team chemistry. Most of their players compete together in the Libyan Premier League and Sudan’s top clubs, Al Hilal and Al Merrikh. Their organized playstyle and defensive resilience will be crucial against Senegal’s firepower.

Senegal’s Stars Shine in the 2026 WCQ

The 2026 WCQ Preview also focuses on Senegal, one of Africa’s strongest teams. With eight points from four matches, they need a win to boost their qualification hopes. Coach Pape Thiaw, in his first major test, relies on experienced leaders like Kalidou Koulibaly, Idrissa Gana Gueye, and Édouard Mendy.

Senegal’s attack is led by Sadio Mané and Ismaïla Sarr, who provide pace and creativity on the wings. Up front, Boulaye Dia and Cherif Ndiaye are expected to lead the charge, with Habib Diallo as another attacking option. With a mix of seasoned veterans and young talents, Senegal enters this match as the clear favorite.

Other Group B Matches in the 2026 WCQ

The 2026 WCQ Preview also includes an earlier match on Saturday as Togo takes on Mauritania in Lomé, Togo. Both teams have struggled in qualifying and desperately need a win to keep their slim hopes alive.

With only one team automatically qualifying from Group B and a possible playoff spot for four of the nine runners-up, every match is critical. As Senegal and Sudan prepare for their showdown, fans can expect a thrilling encounter with World Cup dreams on the line.
