AMVCA 2025 Nominations: The Biggest Names in Film and TV

The highly anticipated AMVCA 2025 nominations have been officially announced, recognizing outstanding talent in film, television, and digital content. This year’s edition features works released between January 1 and December 31, 2024, highlighting the best storytelling across Africa.

Some of the most nominated titles include Lisabi: The Uprising, Skeleton Coast, House of Ga’a, and Freedom Way. These productions secured multiple nominations in key categories such as Best Movie and Best Director.

Top Contenders in the AMVCA 2025 Nominations

The acting categories for AMVCA 2025 nominations are packed with some of the industry’s biggest stars. The Best Lead Actor category features:

  • Gideon Okeke (Tokunbo)
  • Stan Nze (Suspicion)
  • Femi Adebayo (Seven Doors)
  • Adedimeji Lateef (Lisabi: The Uprising)

For Best Lead Actress, the nominees include:

  • Chioma Chukwuka (Seven Doors)
  • Bimbo Ademoye (Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre)
  • Uche Montana (Thinline)

The Best Supporting Actor and Actress categories also feature top names, including Richard Mofe-Damijo, Gabriel Afolayan, Tina Mba, and Mercy Aigbe.
