Osimhen Set for Galatasaray Medical After €75m Transfer Deal

Victor-Osimhen

Victor Osimhen is scheduled to undergo a medical examination as part of his permanent transfer to Galatasaray, following the Turkish club’s fulfillment of all conditions outlined by Napoli.

The agreement was concluded on Sunday, just before the Italian club’s Monday deadline for paperwork submission.

Terms including an anti-Serie A clause and revenue-sharing details have been settled, clearing the path for the move.

A local radio personality, known for tracking this transfer, shared the update, confirming the €75m deal, with Napoli securing 10% of any future sale.

Reports also indicate Napoli will receive €5m in bonuses tied to the striker’s goal tally.

Negotiation Challenges

The transfer process, which spanned the summer, builds on Osimhen’s impressive loan stint in Istanbul last season, where he netted 37 goals and added eight assists across 41 matches.

Galatasaray triggered the player’s €75m release clause, committing to an initial €40m payment and the remaining €35m in installments by June 2026.

Delays occurred due to the club’s initial inability to provide financial assurances, a concern for Napoli given past payment disputes with the Turkish side.

Despite the release clause expiring earlier in July, Napoli maintained the valuation, limiting interest from other clubs.

Player’s Stance and Contract Details

The 26-year-old Nigerian forward has declined to rejoin Napoli and rejected a lucrative offer from a Saudi club, opting to stay with Galatasaray.

The contract includes a penalty clause for a significant fine if Osimhen is sold to another Serie A team within two years, reflecting Napoli’s intent to block his return to the league.

His strained relationship with Napoli’s leadership, which began last year, and his standout loan performance have driven his resolve to finalize this transfer.

Implications and Outlook

This move marks a turning point for Osimhen, who has been a key figure since joining Napoli in 2020.

The prolonged negotiations have ended, though questions linger about Galatasaray’s ability to manage the payment schedule.

For Napoli, the transfer fee and potential future earnings compensate for losing their top scorer, while Galatasaray gains a prolific attacker.

As Osimhen prepares for his medical, anticipation grows for his influence in the Turkish Super Lig and possible European campaigns.
