Tinubu Appoints Rinsola Abiola as CLTC DG

On Monday, August 11, 2025, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced several high-profile appointments to strengthen Nigeria’s leadership and governance institutions.

The announcements, made through statements by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, include roles in the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC) and the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

Rinsola Abiola Named CLTC Director-General

Ms. Rinsola Abiola has been appointed as the Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC).

Abiola, a seasoned expert in strategic communication and government relations, previously served as Senior Special Assistant to the President.

Her new role is expected to leverage her expertise to advance the CLTC’s mission of fostering national unity, discipline, and leadership skills among Nigerian youth.

Nasir Bala Ja’oji Appointed SSA on Citizenship

In addition, President Tinubu appointed Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji as Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership.

Ja’oji, a former Special Adviser on Mobilisation to the Kano State Governor and a member of the Governing Council of Coordinated Arewa Youth Groups, is recognized for his advocacy for women and youth empowerment.

His appointment underscores the administration’s focus on inclusive governance and civic engagement.

Dr. Muheeba Dankaka Reappointed FCC Chairman

In a separate statement, President Tinubu approved the reappointment of Dr. Muheeba Dankaka as Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) for a second five-year term.

Dankaka’s leadership aims to ensure equitable representation across Nigeria’s diverse regions.

The President also appointed Mohammed Musa as the FCC’s secretary and retained Kayode Oladele from Ogun State as a commissioner.

Oladele, a former House of Representatives member, served as acting chairman in 2024 following the expiration of Dankaka’s first term.

New and Reappointed FCC Commissioners

The President renewed the appointments of Lawal Ya’u Roni (Jigawa), Abubakar Atiku Bunu (Kebbi), and Eludayo Eluyemi (Osun) for second terms.

Additionally, a diverse group of new commissioners was appointed to represent various states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT):

  • Hon. Victor Sabor Edoror (Edo)
  • Hon. Sola Fokanle (Ekiti)
  • Peter Eze (Enugu)
  • Ibrahim Baba Mairiga (Gombe)
  • Hon. Jerry Alagbaoso (Imo)
  • Ruth Jumai Ango (Kaduna)
  • Muhammad Awwal Nayya (Kano)
  • Hon. Anas Isah (Katsina)

Strengthening Leadership and Unity

These appointments reflect President Tinubu’s commitment to fostering leadership, civic responsibility, and equitable representation across Nigeria.

Abiola and Ja’oji’s roles in the CLTC aim to empower youth and promote national cohesion, while the FCC appointments ensure fair distribution of opportunities in governance.
