First Nigeria Maritime Golf Challenge Set for Ikoyi Club

The inaugural Nigeria Maritime Golf Challenge kicks off on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the renowned Ikoyi Club 1938 Golf Course. This tournament will bring together 81 golfers from across Nigeria to mark World Maritime Day on September 25.

Goals of the Tournament

Organized by QUBES LLC, the event seeks to highlight Nigeria’s maritime sector through sports.

CEO Lanre Bayewu explained that it aligns with the theme “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Opportunity.” The challenge promotes the industry’s role in economic growth while fostering networking among professionals.

Competition Format and Prizes

The one-day event includes seven categories for different skill levels. It welcomes maritime experts and golf enthusiasts alike. Winners will receive trophies, and cash awards will go to top performers in each division.

Focus on Inclusivity and Impact

The setup ensures wide participation, blending industry pros with casual players. Bayewu highlighted its value in showcasing maritime contributions globally. It also builds stronger ties within the community.

Notable Attendees

Leaders from key agencies, such as the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency and the Nigerian Shippers’ Council, will attend. Their presence underscores the event’s importance to the sector.
