England manager Thomas Tuchel announced his squad recalls on Friday. Midfielders Jude Bellingham and forward Phil Foden are back in the team for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Serbia and Albania.

England has already guaranteed its place in next year’s tournament with two matches left to play in Group K.

The team will conclude its qualification campaign with a match against Serbia next Thursday at Wembley. They will then travel for a fixture against Albania three days later.

Key Player Returns

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham was absent from Tuchel’s squad for the matches played in October. The 22-year-old had recently returned to fitness after recovering from shoulder surgery.

Manchester City forward Phil Foden is involved with the national team for the first time since Tuchel’s inaugural training camp in March.

The 25-man squad also features several fresh and returning faces:

  • Exciting Inclusion: Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott is the most notable new inclusion in the squad.
  • Uncapped Players: Scott joins Nico O’Reilly and Jarell Quansah as the uncapped players called up.
  • Recalled Veterans: Adam Wharton and goalkeeper Nick Pope also earned recalls to the team.

Notable Absences and Selection Strategy

Several players from the previous squad have dropped out. These include Morgan Gibbs-White, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Myles Lewis-Skelly, James Trafford, and Ollie Watkins.

Tuchel chose not to recall midfielder Jack Grealish, who is currently on loan at Everton from Manchester City. Real Madrid right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold also misses out on selection for the final two qualifiers.

England secured its spot at this year’s World Cup, set to be hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, last month. They achieved qualification following a dominant 5-0 victory over Latvia in Riga.
