Double World Record: Tacha Makes History with Cosmetic Makeovers

Reality television personality and influencer Natacha Akide, popularly known as Symply Tacha, achieved a massive milestone this week.

She officially set two new Guinness World Records: one for the most cosmetic makeovers completed in an 8-hour period and another for the most achieved in a 24-hour period.

An official adjudicator from the international record-keeping body confirmed the results of the attempt. Tacha successfully surpassed the previous benchmarks in both time categories.

The Historic Feat in Lagos

Tacha executed the record-breaking marathon at a dedicated makeup station in Lagos on October 11. She completed the transformations for 82 different women in 8 hours. She then followed up by finishing an impressive 144 makeovers within the 24-hour timeframe.

The event faced serious unexpected obstacles, including a severe rainstorm and repeated electrical failures. Despite these logistical hurdles, Tacha showed resilience and dedication to the endeavor.

“We endured a nine-hour storm that shattered our setup,” Tacha recounted. “The rain was so intense it scattered the screens, monitors, and branding. We literally had to rebuild the venue mid-event.”

Pushing Through Adversity

The challenges continued with the power supply. Tacha noted the repeated interruptions during the day-long attempt:

“We had multiple power outages during the 24-hour attempt. The lights went off three or four times, but I refused to pause.”

Her supporting crew quickly adapted. They used cell phone flashlights to provide light, enabling Tacha to continue applying makeup despite the darkness.

“It wasn’t solely about makeup anymore; it became about proving that nothing could impede our progress,” she asserted.

Her clear talent and powerful resolve were evident in the stunning final looks of the women, who expressed excitement over their transformations.
