LIVERPOOL

Liverpool Football Club has officially announced that Aaron Briggs will be leaving his role as individual development coach. The news, shared on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, marks the conclusion of a successful period for the coach within Arne Slot’s backroom team.

Briggs joined the Reds in July 2024 and quickly became a vital part of the technical setup. His departure comes just months after he helped the squad secure the Premier League title during a dominant 2024/25 campaign.

A Key Figure in Arne Slot’s Title Success

Initially appointed to oversee individual player growth, Briggs’ influence grew significantly during his time at the club. He worked closely with both high-profile stars and rising academy talents to sharpen their technical skills.

Briggs’ primary contributions included:

  • Tactical Integration: Working as a core member of Arne Slot’s immediate coaching circle.
  • Individual Growth: Tailoring specific development programs for squad members to maximize performance.
  • Championship Pedigree: Playing a behind-the-scenes role in Liverpool’s most recent Premier League trophy win.

Official Club Appreciation

In a statement posted to the club’s official website, Liverpool thanked Briggs for his dedication and the positive impact he had on the squad’s culture and performance.

“Having joined the club in July 2024… Briggs contributed to our Premier League title success last season as a member of Arne Slot’s backroom staff. He leaves with the appreciation and best wishes of everyone at the club.”

Staff and players alike have expressed their appreciation for his work, noting his professionalism and supportive nature during his tenure.

What’s Next for Briggs and Liverpool?

While Briggs’ next professional move remains unconfirmed, his reputation has been bolstered by Liverpool’s recent domestic success. He leaves Anfield as a highly regarded technical coach.

As of late December 2025, Liverpool has not announced a successor for the individual development role.

It is expected that Arne Slot may look to fill the position internally or during the upcoming January window to maintain the team’s momentum in the second half of the season.
