Rwanda’s Blockchain Week Kicks Off in Kigali

Kigali is hosting the highly anticipated Blockchain Week, focusing on leveraging blockchain technology for social good, particularly in agriculture and public health. This event, organized by the Africa Blockchain Institute, aims to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore the transformative potential of blockchain in addressing key societal challenges.

The week-long event features a series of panels, workshops, and networking opportunities designed to enhance understanding and application of blockchain solutions. Participants will discuss various topics, including digital identity, traceability in supply chains, and the role of blockchain in enhancing agricultural productivity and healthcare services.

Keynote speakers include prominent figures from the African tech ecosystem, such as Kayode Babarinde, Executive Director of the Africa Blockchain Institute, who emphasizes the importance of innovative technologies in driving sustainable development across the continent.

Blockchain Week also aims to foster collaboration among startups, government agencies, and NGOs to create a conducive environment for blockchain adoption. The initiative highlights Rwanda’s commitment to becoming a leader in blockchain technology in Africa, promoting transparency and efficiency in critical sectors.
