Senegal’s head coach, Aliou Cissé, has expressed confidence in the Teranga Lions’ chances at the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025. Speaking after the tournament’s group stage draw, Cissé emphasized the importance of preparation, as Senegal faces a competitive Group D lineup featuring DR Congo, Gambia, and Mali.
In a recent interview, Cissé highlighted the significance of meticulous planning for a tournament of this caliber. “The TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations requires special preparation. Every team comes in with unique strategies, and we cannot afford to take any opponent lightly,” he stated.
Despite acknowledging the tough nature of the group, Cissé remains optimistic about Senegal’s prospects. “We have a talented squad and a strong mentality.
