The Confederation of African Football (CAF) celebrated Africa’s finest football talents at the 2024 CAF Awards held in Marrakech, Morocco, on Sunday, December 15, 2024. The star-studded event honored players, coaches, and teams for their exceptional performances over the past year.

Key Winners

1. African Player of the Year – Ademola Lookman (Nigeria)
Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman clinched the coveted Player of the Year award after a stellar season. Lookman’s contributions, including his consistent performances for Atalanta in Serie A and Nigeria’s national team, secured him this top honor.

2. African Women’s Player of the Year – Barbra Banda (Zambia)
Barbra Banda from Zambia continued her dominance in African football by winning the Women’s Player of the Year award. Banda’s prolific scoring record and leadership for both her club and the Zambian national team earned her this accolade.

3. African Interclub Player of the Year – Percy Tau (South Africa)
Percy Tau was recognized as the Interclub Player of the Year for his remarkable contributions to Al Ahly, helping them secure the CAF Champions League title.

4. Young Player of the Year – Jody February (South Africa)
South African goalkeeper Jody February received the Young Player of the Year award for his breakthrough performances, showcasing immense potential at both club and international levels.

5. Coach of the Year – Walid Regragui (Morocco)
Moroccan coach Walid Regragui, who led the national team to significant success, including an impressive showing at international tournaments, was named Coach of the Year.

6. Club of the Year – Al Ahly (Egypt)
Egyptian giants Al Ahly were crowned Club of the Year, celebrating their dominance in African club football after lifting the CAF Champions League trophy.
