At a Lagos reception on September 21, 2025, China’s Consul-General Yan Yuqing announced that China-Nigeria trade reached $15.48 billion from January to July, a 34.7% rise from 2024.
The event marked China’s 76th founding anniversary, Nigeria’s 64th independence, and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Strengthened Partnership

“Our cooperation brings real benefits to both nations,” she said.
China’s Economic Resilience
Despite global challenges, China’s economy grew 5.3% in the first half of 2025, maintaining its lead in innovation.
Yuqing praised the Chinese community in Nigeria for fostering cultural ties, development, and charity, urging them to strengthen bilateral friendship.
Consulate’s Commitment
Yuqing assured continued support for Chinese nationals in Nigeria. “Our consulate will focus on solving urgent issues for our people and businesses,” she said.
She encouraged the community to promote unity, lawful operations, and drive cooperative growth between the two nations.
