MSC Launches New US-West Africa-South Africa Shipping Route

MSC has rolled out the USWASA Express, a new standalone shipping service linking the United States with West and South Africa.

Announced in October 2025, it builds on MSC’s earlier South Africa route expansion.

Direct Port Connections

The service adds direct calls at Lome, Togo, and San Pedro, Côte d’Ivoire, enhancing trade access. This route strengthens connectivity for businesses across these regions.

Route Details

The USWASA Express follows this rotation: New York – Baltimore – Savannah – Freeport – Lome – Durban – Coega – Cape Town – San Pedro – New York, ensuring efficient cargo flow.

Why It Matters

The service boosts trade between the US and Africa, supporting economic growth and streamlining supply chains for key markets.

What’s Next

Starting in October 2025, MSC’s USWASA Express will facilitate faster, direct shipping, fostering stronger US-Africa trade ties.
