Bassey, who captivated audiences in Nigerian cinema, revealed that her path to the U.S. Navy was both challenging and transformative.

She took to her page saying, “Last week, I graduated from U.S. Navy boot camp as a Sailor and took the oath as a citizen of the United States,” “Nigeria raised me. America challenged me”.

In a heartfelt  post, she shared a photo of herself in her Navy uniform. She credited her success to her faith, family, and supporters who stood by her throughout her journey.

Her tribute to her late father, a Naval Commander, underscores the personal significance of her decision to join the Navy, reflecting a legacy of service and sacrifice.
