The marital conflict between Senator Ned Nwoko and actress Regina Daniels escalated over the weekend. The couple exchanged highly explosive accusations involving drug use, family harassment, and claims of manipulation.
Nwoko Alleges Harassment and Substance Abuse
Senator Nwoko took to social media on Saturday night to detail his version of the crisis. He accused Daniels’ brother, Sammy West, of repeatedly creating disturbances at the family residence. Nwoko recounted a confrontation that occurred at 4 a.m. a month ago.
“Just four weeks ago, I woke up around 4 a.m. and realised that Regina was in my room and on the phone. She was clearly high…” Nwoko wrote.
The Senator stated he instructed a driver to remove the person Daniels was with. Minutes later, Sammy West arrived at the house shouting. “Thirty minutes later, Sammy came to my house shouting and demanding that I come downstairs to face him.”
Nwoko described the audacity of the confrontation. “I eventually went downstairs and had to instruct the security to physically push him out of my compound. The level of audacity was shocking. Without the influence of drugs, could he have been so bold and disrespectful?”
Nwoko released security footage purportedly showing West being forcibly removed by security staff. He claimed West frequently visited the compound to harass his children and staff, especially when the Senator was absent.
Nwoko also claimed he financed West’s university education, music equipment, and an Abuja apartment, in addition to transferring N125 million to Daniels’ mother, Rita.
Daniels Fires Back: Alleging Manipulation and Isolation
Daniels responded fiercely on Sunday morning via her social media platform. She admitted to past substance use but vehemently rejected Nwoko’s narrative of events.
“Fine, I did drugs. So what? Is that even the issue between us?” she questioned. “The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public, shouting ‘drugs, drugs, drugs,’ because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media something dramatic enough to distract everyone from the real issue!”
She made a counter-accusation, suggesting Nwoko encouraged her intoxication for personal reasons. “You say you want me to go for rehab but you are the same Ned who always wanted me high because, in your words, I’m ‘sexier’ when I’m high. You liked me that way because it made me wild and romantic exactly how you wanted me to be.”
Daniels accused him of a calculated attempt to isolate her: “You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me… Then, when I’m completely isolated and broken, I will be forced to come back to you because I will have nowhere else to go.”
Denial of Legal Marriage
The actress made a striking legal claim: she stated there was no court-registered marriage between them. She characterized the relationship as non-consensual in its later stages.
“No matter how much you think you spent on me, it can never equal the value of the time I gave you, my prime years, my energy, and the career opportunities I sacrificed while being with you.”
She concluded with a clear separation demand: “And for the record, I would have filed for divorce long ago if there had ever been a legal marriage between us. We were never married in any court of law… Leave me alone, Ned. Marriage is not by force. Love is not by force.”
This latest dispute follows weeks of reports regarding Daniels’ marital troubles, which began when she accused her husband of domestic violence. Nwoko had denied those allegations, attributing Daniels’ behavior to substance abuse and demanding she enter rehabilitation.
