SON

Oluwanishola Ogudu, the mother of Wizkid’s eldest son, Boluwatife Balogun, has announced a strategic pause in the young artist’s public career.

In a statement released on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, she revealed that the family is currently turning down all performance invitations for the teenager.

Specifically, Ogudu explained that they are prioritizing his personal development and education over early exposure to the entertainment industry. Although Boluwatife, known professionally as Champz, has seen a surge in popularity, his team believes a measured approach is best.

Prioritizing Development Over Live Performances

Despite the high demand for the 14-year-old to perform live, his management remains firm. Ogudu expressed her sincere gratitude to the event organizers and fans who have shown interest in booking Champz.

The decision to decline shows is based on three main pillars:

  • Age-Appropriate Growth: Ensuring he enjoys a balanced childhood.
  • Skill Building: Focusing on vocal and musical training behind the scenes.
  • Strategic Patience: Following the philosophy of “walking before you run” to ensure long-term success.

“We’re building patiently and intentionally and look forward to future opportunities when the timing is right,” Ogudu shared on social media.

New Music Scheduled for 2026

While fans will not see Champz on stage this holiday season, new content is on the horizon. Ogudu hinted that the young artist is staying busy in the recording studio. Consequently, fans can look forward to a fresh musical project set to drop in 2026.

This follows the successful release of his debut EP, Champion’s Arrival, in November 2025. That project established Boluwatife as a serious contender in the music space, moving beyond his status as a “celebrity child.”

A Rising Star in the Making

Boluwatife has consistently impressed social media audiences with his freestyle skills and musical intuition. As the first son of the Grammy-winning superstar Wizkid, expectations are high.

However, by choosing development over immediate fame, his mother aims to ensure he builds a legacy that is entirely his own.

For now, the young “Champz” will remain focused on his studies and his craft, preparing for a full-scale return to the spotlight when he is ready.
