UN

On October 10, 2025, the United Nations expressed grave concern over rising violence in El Fasher, North Darfur’s capital.

The El Fasher violence involves clashes between Sudanese forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Civilian Casualties Mount

The UN reported over 50 deaths in October alone, per local sources. The El Fasher violence has trapped civilians, cutting them off from essential aid and services.

RSF Accused of Crimes

UN officials accused the RSF of severe violations, including murders, sexual assaults, and attacks on civilian facilities.

The El Fasher violence has worsened the humanitarian crisis significantly.

Hospital Attack Reported

A medical group stated that RSF shelling hit an El Fasher hospital, killing 12 civilians, including women and children.

The El Fasher violence also struck the hospital’s maternity ward.

Mosque Assault Kills Dozen

Another attack targeted a mosque sheltering families, leaving over a dozen dead. The El Fasher violence continues to terrorize residents, with no safe havens remaining.

Aid Access Blocked

The UN warned that El Fasher’s residents face dire conditions. Limited aid reaches the city, exacerbating suffering amid the ongoing El Fasher violence and conflict.

UN Condemns Escalation

“We deplore this surge in violence,” said UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric. The El Fasher violence demands urgent action to protect civilians and restore humanitarian access.

Call for Protection

The UN urged all parties to halt attacks on civilians. The El Fasher violence underscores the need for immediate measures to ensure safety and deliver aid.
