Nigeria’s Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Dangote Cement Transport signed a deal to tackle rising truck accidents.

They met at FRSC’s Abuja headquarters to plan ways to make roads safer, especially for Dangote’s big trucks.

FRSC’s Big Push

Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed led the meeting. He called the partnership a key move to save lives.

“This isn’t just about past crashes. It’s about making highways safe for everyone,” he said. He wants fewer accidents through teamwork with Dangote.

Safety Plans

Dangote’s Murillo Silva joined the talks. They agreed on training drivers to national standards, checking trucks regularly, and adding safety tools to avoid breakdowns. These steps could be a model for other companies.

Nationwide Action

FRSC is stepping up efforts across Nigeria. They’re pushing stricter driver tests, more public safety ads, and frequent truck checks. Mohammed asked other firms to copy Dangote’s safety reviews and training.

Why It Matters

A deadly August 2025 crash involving a Dangote truck in Edo State sparked public anger. It killed Ruth Otabor, a young mom and new graduate, after hitting a motorcycle near Auchi Polytechnic.

Looking Ahead

This partnership aims to make Nigeria’s roads safer. FRSC and Dangote want to lead the way in cutting down traffic crashes for good.
