Nigeria’s football icon Asisat Oshoala, a six-time African Women’s Player of the Year, has announced her retirement from international football with the Super Falcons at age 30.

The former Barcelona Femeni star shared the news on Facebook on July 21, 2025, stating her decision to step away after the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2024/25 to make room for emerging talents.
