CAF Announces Match Schedule for TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially released the match schedule for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025, set to take place in Morocco. The tournament will commence on January 13, 2025, with the final match scheduled for February 11, 2025. Matches will be hosted across six venues in five cities: Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, and Tangier.

The opening match is slated for January 13 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, featuring host nation Morocco. The group stage will run until January 24, followed by the Round of 16 from January 27 to 30. Quarterfinals are scheduled for February 2 and 3, with semifinals on February 6 and 7. The tournament will conclude with the final on February 11 in Rabat.

In the group stage draw, Mali has been placed in Group A alongside Morocco, Zambia, and Comoros. Mali’s head coach, Tom Saintfiet, has expressed optimism about the draw and the team’s prospects. He emphasized the team’s ambition to play seven matches in the tournament, indicating a goal to reach at least the semifinals. Saintfiet acknowledged the strength of their opponents but remains confident in Mali’s potential to compete at the highest level.

The AFCON 2025 is anticipated to be a significant event in the football calendar, showcasing the talents of Africa’s top national teams. Fans are eagerly awaiting the tournament, which promises to deliver exciting matches and highlight the continent’s football prowess.
