Kurt Okraku Elected to CAF Executive Council, Boosting Ghanaian Football

Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has been elected to the CAF Executive Council, securing a vital role in African football governance. Representing the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B, Okraku ran unopposed and received strong backing from federation members.

This appointment positions Ghana prominently within the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and offers the country greater influence in shaping the future of football on the continent.

Ghana Gains a Voice in CAF Executive Council

With this election, Okraku brings Ghana back into the upper echelons of African football decision-making. The GFA highlighted the significance of his victory, stating:

“The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has been successfully elected as a member of the Executive Committee (EXCO) of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The four-year term runs from 2025-2029.”

His new role places him among the 24-member leadership of the CAF Executive Council, granting Ghana an authoritative presence in key football deliberations.
