Super Eagles

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have traveled directly to Kigali, Rwanda, as they gear up for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Rwandan national team. The team, led by newly appointed head coach Eric Chelle, is determined to secure a vital win as they push for a spot in the global tournament.

With expectations high, Chelle has opened the door for new inclusions in the squad, welcoming players like Chuba Akpom and Nathan Tella to strengthen the team. The decision aligns with his strategy to enhance the squad’s depth and adaptability as Nigeria navigates the qualification campaign.

Meanwhile, former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) chairman Shehu Dikko has urged the federation to do everything necessary to ensure Nigeria qualifies for the World Cup. He emphasized that missing the tournament would be a significant setback for Nigerian football, stressing the need for thorough preparation and proper management.

The Super Eagles’ direct travel to Kigali eliminates unnecessary stopovers, allowing the team to settle in quickly and focus entirely on their preparations. The game against Rwanda is seen as a crucial test for Chelle, who is tasked with restoring the team’s dominance on the continental and global stages.

Fans and analysts are eager to see how Chelle’s tactical approach and squad selections will impact Nigeria’s performance. A positive result in Kigali would boost the team’s confidence as they continue their quest for World Cup qualification.
