Truecaller has rolled out a game-changing feature for iPhone users, introducing real-time caller ID capabilities through Apple’s latest iOS 18.2 update. This update allows Truecaller to provide enhanced spam and scam blocking, previously limited due to iOS restrictions. iPhone users can now enjoy a seamless experience similar to what Android users have long benefited from.

The development follows Apple’s move to unlock access to Live Activities for third-party apps on the lock screen and Dynamic Island. Truecaller’s real-time caller ID uses this functionality to display caller information in real-time, ensuring users can identify unknown callers immediately. This is particularly useful for filtering out spam and scam calls, a growing concern worldwide.

Speaking on the release, Alan Mamedi, CEO of Truecaller, highlighted the importance of the feature in today’s communication landscape. “Our mission is to make communication safer and more efficient. With Apple’s update, we are now able to bring the best of Truecaller to iPhone users, offering them the tools to make informed decisions about who they interact with,” he said.

To activate the real-time caller ID, users must have an active Truecaller premium subscription. Once enabled, the app leverages Apple’s APIs to deliver caller information directly to the lock screen during incoming calls. The company assures users that privacy remains a top priority, with all data encrypted and processed in accordance with global data protection standards.

In addition to the caller ID feature, Truecaller now provides enhanced spam filtering, powered by advanced algorithms and community reporting. The app identifies and blocks spam calls with greater accuracy, reducing interruptions for users.

The iOS 18.2 update not only benefits Truecaller but also represents a broader shift in Apple’s approach to third-party integrations. By allowing apps like Truecaller to access more system-level features, Apple is addressing longstanding complaints from developers and users about the limited flexibility of iOS compared to Android.

Tech enthusiasts and industry experts have praised the collaboration between Apple and Truecaller as a significant step toward improving the user experience. Many see this as an indication of Apple’s growing commitment to enhancing app functionality while maintaining its focus on security and user privacy.

With Truecaller’s latest update, iPhone users can now enjoy cutting-edge features that were previously out of reach. This marks a significant milestone for both Truecaller and Apple, as they continue to innovate and prioritize user needs in an increasingly interconnected world.
