A Twitter user in Sudan has been spearheading a campaign to save five starving lions kept in cages at Al-Qureshi Park in Khartoum. He recently reported that one of the lions, a seriously ill female, has been transferred to a clinic for better treatment.

In a tweet, he shared, “The critically sick lioness was taken to Soba Clinic this morning for improved care. They mentioned some signs of improvement, though it’s hard to verify the details.” He also urged his followers to pray for the lioness’s recovery.

Additionally, he noted that food donations had been made for the remaining lions. An online petition has been started to advocate for the rescue of these animals, which have reportedly faced food and medical shortages for several weeks, according to news agency AFP.
