Policymakers, investors, and industry leaders from across the region and beyond are set to gather in Lagos to accelerate solutions for sustainable growth and clean energy development at the 14th edition of the West Africa Clean Energy & Environment Trade Fair & Conference 2026 (WACEE).
The two-day conference will take place March 17–18, 2026, at the Landmark Event Centre under the theme: “Accelerating West Africa’s Green Transition: Innovation, Policy & Investment.”
The event is organised by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria) through its service arm, DGIC International Business Services Limited.
Platform for sustainable development
According to the organisers, WACEE 2026 will serve as a strategic platform for advancing practical solutions to support clean energy adoption, environmental sustainability, and climate-resilient development across West Africa.
They noted that the region faces growing pressures from rapid urbanisation, rising energy demand, and climate change, making sustainable infrastructure and green investments increasingly critical.
Nigeria, the region’s largest economy, mirrors many of these challenges—ranging from limited electricity access and high industrial energy costs to waste management issues and climate adaptation needs.
Over 1,500 participants expected
The organisers said the 2026 edition is expected to attract more than 1,500 participants and over 40 exhibitors, including government institutions, private sector organisations, development finance institutions, multilateral agencies, investors, and technology providers.
Over the years, WACEE has evolved into one of the region’s leading platforms focused on clean energy deployment, environmental solutions, and climate-aligned industrial development.
Key focus areas
The conference will address six strategic themes shaping the region’s green transition:
- Clean Energy and Energy Efficiency
- Circular Economy and Waste Management
- Water Management
- Green Finance and Sustainable Investment
- Climate Resilience and Adaptation
- Sustainable Mobility and Green Infrastructure
According to the organisers, these priority areas reflect West Africa’s most pressing economic and environmental challenges, including energy access, industrial competitiveness, urban sustainability, and the mobilisation of green capital.
Driving real investment and partnerships
Beyond exhibitions and panel discussions, WACEE 2026 will feature high-level policy dialogues, technical workshops, business-to-business matchmaking sessions, and investment-focused discussions.
Organisers say the goal is to move beyond conversations and create practical partnerships and investments that accelerate West Africa’s transition to a low-carbon and resilient economy.
