Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called on Nigerians to prioritize vigilance and unity as the nation embarks on a new year, stressing the importance of collective effort in overcoming national challenges. In his New Year message, Atiku emphasized good governance, social cohesion, and active citizenship as essential to Nigeria’s progress.

Addressing the nation, Atiku urged Nigerians to remain vigilant in 2025, particularly in safeguarding democratic principles and combating corruption. He noted that increased awareness and participation by citizens are vital in holding leaders accountable and ensuring the security of the country.

“2025 presents an opportunity for us to build on our resilience as a nation. Our vigilance must extend beyond politics to ensuring our communities are safe and thriving,” he stated.

Atiku highlighted the need for Nigerians to stand united against divisive tendencies that threaten the fabric of the nation. He encouraged citizens to foster dialogue and mutual respect to build a peaceful and inclusive society.

“Unity is the bedrock of progress. We must focus on what binds us rather than what divides us. Good governance thrives in an environment of unity and collective purpose,” Atiku noted.

The former vice president reiterated his commitment to advocating for good governance and called on both government officials and citizens to uphold values that promote transparency, accountability, and justice. He expressed optimism that, with deliberate effort, Nigeria can overcome its current socio-economic challenges.

Atiku also called on leaders at all levels to prioritize policies that alleviate poverty, enhance education, and improve healthcare delivery, noting that such actions would significantly impact the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

In his closing remarks, Atiku extended his wishes for a prosperous year to all Nigerians, urging them to remain hopeful and proactive. He expressed confidence in Nigeria’s potential to thrive amidst adversity, provided that citizens unite in purpose and resolve.

“As we step into 2025, let us not lose sight of our shared destiny as a people. Together, we can create a better future for ourselves and generations to come,” Atiku concluded.
