The mother of legendary Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, has passed away at the age of 105. Her death marks the end of a remarkable life spanning over a century, during which she supported and witnessed her son rise to become a global icon in the Fuji music genre.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State extended his condolences to K1, expressing deep sympathy for his loss. Sanwo-Olu praised the late matriarch for her enduring legacy and the values she instilled in her son, which contributed to his illustrious career.

Meanwhile, K1 sparked conversations during a recent phone call with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In the call, the Fuji maestro reportedly expressed confidence in Tinubu’s administration, stating, “You can’t be president and watch me suffer.” This statement has drawn mixed reactions, with many interpreting it as a blend of admiration and personal assurance in Tinubu’s leadership.

K1’s relationship with the president has been longstanding, rooted in mutual respect and camaraderie. The musician’s comments have further highlighted the personal connections between influential figures in Nigeria’s cultural and political spheres.

Fans and well-wishers across the globe continue to send condolences to K1 and his family during this period of mourning. The Fuji icon remains a significant figure in Nigerian music, and many have acknowledged his mother’s pivotal role in his journey to success.
