President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Abuja for France on a private visit ahead of the upcoming African Union (AU) summit in Ethiopia. The President left the country on Wednesday, February 5, with reports indicating that he will spend time in Paris before proceeding to Addis Ababa for the high-level continental gathering.

According to sources within the presidency, Tinubu’s visit to France is expected to include undisclosed engagements before his participation in the AU summit. While details of his itinerary remain private, it is believed that the trip will allow the President to hold key discussions with stakeholders before joining other African leaders at the summit.

The AU summit, set to take place in Ethiopia, will focus on pressing regional and continental issues, including security, economic growth, and diplomatic cooperation. As Nigeria’s leader, Tinubu is expected to contribute to conversations on strengthening Africa’s position in global affairs, fostering economic stability, and addressing challenges such as terrorism and political instability in various member states.

This marks another international engagement for Tinubu since assuming office, as he continues to represent Nigeria on the global stage. The President’s trip to France and subsequent participation in the AU summit align with his administration’s efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s foreign relations and strategic partnerships.
