Gaza Humanitarian Crisis Deepens as Israel Faces Backlash

Palestinian leaders urge global intervention over alleged Israeli plans to control aid through forced isolation zones.

GAZA CITY – The Gaza government on Wednesday denounced alleged Israeli plans to create “ghetto-style” camps under the guise of humanitarian aid distribution, calling the move a “clear violation of international law.”

In a statement, the Government Media Office said:  “We categorically reject the occupation’s plans to establish forced isolation camps akin to Nazi ghettos… as part of a systematic segregation policy.”

Describing the approach as “inhumane” and “unacceptable,” officials accused Israel of weaponizing humanitarian aid to impose siege, starvation, and control.

The statement urged the international community, legal bodies, and humanitarian organizations to act immediately and stop what it called “a farce and systematic chaos” inflicted on Gaza residents.

Humanitarian Crisis Deepens

Since the closure of Gaza’s border crossings on March 2, the region faces critical shortages of food, medicine, fuel, and clean water.

At least 57 people—mostly children—have died from hunger, according to Palestinian health authorities.

On Sunday, Israel’s security Cabinet approved a limited aid plan, supported by the U.S., involving private firms and international funds. Aid would be sent to “humanitarian compounds” in southern Gaza—a model that Palestinian leaders and aid groups widely rejected as unethical and ineffective.
