Vivo has officially launched the V50 smartphone in India, positioning it as a camera-centric device with a massive 6,000mAh battery and premium design. The latest addition to the V-series aims to attract photography enthusiasts and users looking for long-lasting battery life.

The Vivo V50 features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals and vibrant colors. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor, coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The device runs on Funtouch OS 14, based on Android 14, offering various AI-driven optimizations.

One of the standout features of the V50 is its camera system. The smartphone boasts a 50MP primary sensor, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro lens. On the front, a 32MP selfie camera promises high-quality images, enhanced by Vivo’s AI-powered portrait mode and beauty filters. The company has emphasized improvements in low-light photography, with advanced night mode capabilities.

Battery performance is another highlight, with the 6,000mAh battery supporting 80W fast charging. Vivo claims the device can last more than a day on a single charge, catering to users who need extended screen time without frequent recharging.

In terms of design, the Vivo V50 retains a familiar look, similar to its predecessor, the V40. However, minor refinements have been made to improve ergonomics and aesthetics. The device is available in multiple color options, including Midnight Black and Sunset Gold.

Comparisons with the Vivo V40 reveal that the two devices share several specifications, including the display size and refresh rate. However, the V50 offers a larger battery and a slightly improved camera system. Despite these upgrades, some analysts believe the changes are incremental rather than revolutionary.

The Vivo V50 is now available for purchase in India, with a starting price of approximately $345.43. It is expected to compete with other mid-range smartphones in the market, including offerings from Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi.
