Emir Bayero Peace Recognition

University Don Commends Emir for Suspending Sallah Durbar

Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has been recognized for his commitment to peace following his decision to suspend the traditional Sallah Durbar in the state. The recognition was given by the Nigerian Citizen Peace Ambassadors during an event held at the Nasarawa Mini Palace in Kano.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Imam, a respected university don, praised the Emir’s leadership and his dedication to maintaining peace despite the ongoing Emirate Tussle.

A Commitment to Peace

During his speech, Prof. Imam acknowledged Emir Bayero’s peaceful approach to the current tensions in Kano, stating:

“His Highness has been an advocate of peace, and since the beginning of the Emirate Tussle, he has been doing his best to maintain peace despite all efforts by some unscrupulous elements to disrupt it.”

He further emphasized that the Emir’s decision to suspend the Durbar celebration demonstrated his commitment to stability in Kano.

“Suspending the Durbar is an indication that you’re a peaceful man. This is how the late Emir, who happened to be your father, was.”

“Everybody knows that we are peace-abiding people. This is something that we have learnt from our forefathers. We have no other place than Kano, and we will allow the law to take its course as we believe whatever Allah destined for us will be good for all of us and our dear state.”

The Emir also urged Kano residents to remain calm and avoid any actions that could disrupt the peace of the state.

“I’m calling on the people of Kano to remain calm and peaceful. They should not engage in anything that will disrupt the peace of the state.”
