Pharma West Africa 2026 Set for Record Turnout with 250+ Exhibitors, 4,500 Visitors Expected

Africa’s leading pharmaceutical trade event, Pharma West Africa, is gearing up for its largest edition yet, with over 250 exhibitors and an estimated 4,500 visitors expected to attend.

The three-day event will hold from April 14 to 16 at the Landmark Centre in Lagos, reinforcing its status as the premier international platform for the pharmaceutical and pharmacy sector in West Africa.

Strong global participation

This year’s exhibition will feature country pavilions and international exhibitors from across the globe, including China, Turkey, Bangladesh, Egypt, as well as participants from India, Vietnam, Canada, the United States, and across the Middle East and Europe.

Local manufacturers, suppliers, and importers from Nigeria, Ghana, and other West African nations will also play a major role, highlighting the region’s growing pharmaceutical capacity.

Nigeria’s pharma market on the rise

The event comes amid strong growth in Nigeria’s pharmaceutical sector, which recorded an estimated ₦2.54 trillion in revenue in 2025, with projections showing continued expansion over the next five years.

Across West Africa, the pharmaceutical market generated over ₦4.12 trillion in the same period, underlining the region’s increasing importance in global medicine supply chains.

Industry hub for trade and partnerships

Organised by BtoB Events, Pharma West Africa has quickly become a must-attend event for stakeholders across the pharmaceutical value chain.

Founder and CEO Jamie Hill said the event’s rapid growth reflects rising local and international interest.

“From local SMEs to global pharmaceutical brands, the event brings together a diverse mix of businesses focused on improving access to quality medicines across the region,” he noted.

The exhibition is expected to attract key stakeholders, including importers, distributors, and pharmacy retail chains, alongside high-level buyers from countries such as Benin, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Kenya, South Africa, and others.

Focus on supply chain and innovation

Running alongside the exhibition is the Pharma West Africa Conference, chaired by Ahmed Yakasai, former president of the Nigerian Pharmaceutical Society.

The conference will focus on strengthening pharmaceutical supply chains and advancing medicine self-sufficiency in West Africa, with particular emphasis on the role of digital technology and artificial intelligence.

Tackling counterfeit medicines

The event will also host the annual conference of the Pharmaceutical Wholesalers and Dealers Association of Nigeria, which will explore strategies to combat substandard and falsified medicines through stronger distribution systems.

With growing demand for reliable medicine supply and increasing international participation, Pharma West Africa 2026 is set to drive collaboration, innovation, and investment across Africa’s pharmaceutical industry.
