REGINA DANIELS

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly addressed the persistent controversies surrounding her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko. She stated her firm focus remains on her children and her unwavering commitment to defending her mother, Rita Daniels, against rising social media criticism.

This difficult situation escalated from a viral video last month. It grew to include allegations of substance use and reports of arrests among her family members.

Daniels took a new public step on Wednesday, sharing an emotional video on social media. She spoke openly about her marriage, her children, and the toll the recent controversies have taken on her peace of mind.

Defending Her Mother and Independence

In the video, the actress revealed her personal struggle: “Tell me why everyone else is sleeping while I can’t. I’m not going to cry. You don’t do that in front of the camera. This means I’m tough, and I’m not crying.”

The actress strongly pleaded with the public to stop attacking her mother. She described her mother as her “pillar and protector.” Daniels disclosed that her family initially opposed her union with Nwoko, but she chose to proceed because she was deeply in love.

  • Family Opposition: “Everyone said no. My mom warned me, my brothers were fighting, breaking bottles,” she recalled. She even offered herself for arrest, saying, “Arrest me! My family doesn’t want me to marry the love of my life.”
  • Denying Greed: Daniels dismissed long-standing claims that her mother forced her into the relationship for financial motives. She stressed that her family was never financially broken.
  • Mother’s Support: “You all should stop saying I got married out of greed. Excuse me, we were not broke! What amount of money can a man give to a mother who already has a child providing for the whole family?” Daniels asserted. She credited her mother for training all her siblings through her earnings.

Vow to Protect Her Sons

In the same emotional address, Daniels spoke passionately about her two sons, Munir (born 2020) and Khalifa (born 2022). She vowed to protect, train, and raise them, regardless of any challenges she faces in her marriage.

“I’m going to fight for my children. I’ll take them, train them, and raise them with or without your support,” she declared.

Despite her raw tone, the actress confirmed she still holds respect for her husband. “I did fall in love, and I still care and respect him. That’s love care and respect.” She explained her decision not to escalate their personal issues: “The only reason I’m not fighting you, Ned, is that I want Mona and Khalifa’s father’s name to remain strong. But they can take mine.”

In the caption accompanying her post, she reaffirmed her personal independence and accountability for her choices. “For the record, I don’t regret anything. Na only me carry my leg enter. This was a route I was meant to take  not my final destination.”
