The acclaimed Afrobeats artist, Tiwa Savage, has shared a surprising personal perspective on romance. In a recent interview, the singer and mother of one revealed that infidelity has never been a deal-breaker in any of her relationships.
The musician spoke openly about her romantic history. She stated that she has never cheated on a partner. Similarly, she has never ended a relationship solely because of a partner’s infidelity.
The Real Reasons for a Breakup
According to Savage, she reserves relationship termination for more severe transgressions. These serious issues include theft, substance abuse, or comparable misconduct.
The star acknowledged that she has experienced being taken advantage of by partners in ways that amounted to financial deception. However, she emphasized that cheating alone does not justify ending a relationship in her view.
She explained that when partners stray, they typically return with apologies and attempts to reconcile, which she generally accepts.
Public Persona Makes Infidelity Easier
Savage attributed her tolerance, in part, to her public persona. Being a well-known figure, her naturally calm and non-confrontational personality makes it easier for partners to stray without facing public scrutiny or backlash.
She detailed her personal non-confrontational approach:
“No, never. And I have never left someone for cheating. I didn’t even leave him; he left me. Well, indirectly, yes.”
She clarified why her partners feel they can get away with it: “Even when they cheat, they’ll come back and apologize. That’s not a deal breaker for me. They get away with it because of my personality. I can’t come online to rant, and when I see them, I can’t react”.
