Cole Palmer

The shackles are off for Chelsea’s talisman. Head coach Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Cole Palmer is fully fit and available for selection in Saturday’s London Derby against West Ham United.

This announcement serves as a massive tactical upgrade for the Blues at Stamford Bridge. While Palmer started on the bench during the midweek UEFA Champions League thrill-ride against Napoli, his impact was undeniable. Coming on as a substitute, he provided two match-winning assists for Joao Pedro to secure a dramatic 3-2 comeback.

Now, the restrictions are lifted.

No Setbacks Following Napoli Heroics

Fears of fatigue following that intense European night were quickly dismissed during Friday’s press conference. Rosenior made it clear that the midfielder emerged unscathed and is ready for a heavier workload.

“Cole is fine,” Rosenior stated. “He came through the other night with two assists and an outstanding performance. He is available to start tomorrow, and of course, we are really happy about that.”

While the coaching staff remains vigilant about managing his long-term health, the priority for this weekend is securing three points. Rosenior noted the player’s elite mentality and desire to play every minute, balancing that hunger with medical prudence.

Recovery Room Update

Beyond the Cole Palmer news, there is cautious optimism surrounding several long-term absentees. Rosenior provided a detailed breakdown of the squad’s rehabilitation progress.

Crucially, defender Levi Colwill has returned to the grass following a severe knee injury. While he is running again, the club will not rush his competitive return.

Current Injury Status:

  • Romeo Lavia: Entering the final, high-intensity phase of rehab.
  • Tosin Adarabioyo: Resumed individual pitch work on Friday.
  • Levi Colwill: Back to running, representing a significant morale boost for the squad.
  • Dario Essugo: Recovering steadily, though slightly behind the other returnees.

Momentum Shift at the Bridge

Saturday’s fixture is pivotal. Riding the wave of their continental victory in Italy, Chelsea look to consolidate their Premier League standing. With their primary creator back in the starting lineup, the Blues are aiming to turn this local rivalry into a statement win.
