Nigeria Launches ₦10M Prize for Top Tax Reform Journalists

Nigeria’s Federal Government just unveiled the Excellence in Tax Reform Reporting Award a ₦10 million top prize for journalists and digital creators who cut through the noise on the country’s bold new tax laws.

Taiwo Oyedele, head of the Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, broke the news Tuesday on X, calling it a push to:

“Build trust, crush myths, and make tax reforms crystal clear for every Nigerian.”

President Bola Tinubu signed four landmark tax bills on June 26, set to kick in January 1, 2026. This award ensures citizens hear the facts.

  • Print, TV, radio, and online journalists

  • Bloggers, podcasters, and social media influencers

Entries must be published July 1 – December 31, 2025 in English, Pidgin, Hausa, Igbo, or Yoruba.
