The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will hold a 10km fitness walk on Saturday, October 18, 2025, near Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos.

This event, designed for NAF personnel, aims to improve their health and readiness for duty. The walk supports the NAF’s goal of keeping its workforce fit and effective for national security tasks.

Squadron Leader Abigail Ologun, spokesperson for the NAF Logistics Command in Lagos, announced the details on Friday, October 17, 2025.

The walk will run from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., lasting two hours to limit public disruption.

Which Roads Are Affected?

The closure will block the road from Murtala Muhammed Airport 2 to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, as well as nearby routes.

This busy Lagos corridor will be closed to public vehicles during the event. Drivers should plan to use alternate paths to avoid delays.

NAF and security personnel will be on-site to guide traffic and ensure safety. Ologun asked the public to follow their directions to keep things running smoothly. Normal traffic will resume right after the walk ends at 8:00 a.m.

Keeping the Event Safe and Smooth

The NAF has planned carefully to make the event safe and efficient. Ologun stressed that steps are in place to reduce inconvenience for residents and commuters.

The force apologizes for any disruption and appreciates the public’s cooperation.

This fitness walk highlights the NAF’s commitment to a healthy team. Drivers should check local updates for alternate routes and prepare for minor delays on Saturday morning.
