Argentina

The veteran striker from Inter Miami has voiced interest in representing Argentina at the upcoming global championship in 2026. At 38, he aims to contribute to retaining the crown won in Qatar four years prior.

The event, jointly organized by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, presents a unique opportunity on the continent where he now plays club football.

Conditional Commitment

In a recent television discussion, the multiple award recipient shared: “Participating in such a major event remains special. I want to be involved and make a meaningful impact for the squad.”

Turning 39 midway through next year, he plans to monitor his form closely.

“I’ll evaluate daily during club preparations to ensure full capability and value to the team before choosing,” he explained.

Dream of Defense

As skipper, he finds motivation in protecting the recent triumph. “The chance to compete again at this level, especially after success, fulfills a lifelong goal with the country,” he noted.

Career Journey

Beginning professionally two decades ago, he later transferred to European giants before arriving in American league play last year.

Life in New Home

Settling into Florida, he appreciates the environment: “The location offers peace, enjoyment, and freedom for family, contrasting yet complementing past experiences in Spain.”

National Legacy

Holder of the country’s scoring record, he has featured nearly 200 times internationally, finding the net over 100 occasions.
