The National Sports Commission (NSC) has pledged full backing for Team Nigeria as they prepare to compete at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, scheduled from September 13 to September 21.

In a statement released on Thursday, Kola Daniel, media aide to NSC Director-General Bukola Olopade, urged the athletes to give their best performance and make the nation proud.

“From the beginning, the NSC chairman, Mallam Shehu Dikko, made it clear that Nigeria must get it right in athletics. This is a moment of pride, and we trust our athletes to compete with determination and secure podium finishes,” Olopade said.

He further assured that the Commission and Nigerians across the globe stand firmly behind the team, adding that he will personally be in Tokyo to provide frontline support during the competition.
