Israel

On September 25, 2025, Israel’s military targeted Houthi-linked sites in Sanaa, Yemen, hitting control centers, intelligence compounds, and military camps.

The strikes followed a Houthi drone attack on a hotel in Israel’s Eilat resort, which injured at least 20 people.

Casualties in Yemen

Yemen’s Houthi-run health ministry reported two deaths and 48 injuries from the Israeli strikes, which damaged civilian and service buildings.

Rescue teams continued operations at the scene, with residents describing dust-covered streets and bloodied women and children.

Response to Drone Strike

The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed the airstrikes as a direct reply to the Houthi drone assault on Eilat. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described the operation as a “strong blow” against Houthi terror targets.

Broader Conflict

The exchanges mark over a year of tit-for-tat attacks between Yemen’s Houthi militants and Israel, stemming from the Gaza war.

Houthi leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi’s speech was airing during the strikes.

Damage Reported

Yemeni media reported hits on the Dhahban power station and residential areas in southern and western Sanaa. Witnesses spoke of terror, with one noting the chaos in the streets.

Recent Israeli Action

In August 2025, Israel killed the Houthi administration’s prime minister and several ministers, the first such strike on senior officials.

Ongoing Tensions

The conflict highlights regional spillover from Gaza, with the Houthis continuing attacks on Israel amid the broader Middle East crisis.
