Tom Homan

Tom Homan, President Donald Trump’s border security director, reportedly accepted $50,000 in cash from an undercover FBI agent during a 2024 sting.

Sources say Homan offered immigration contracts for the Trump team in return, but the case was dropped.

Probe Shutdown

FBI head Kash Patel halted the investigation over the summer, per insiders. Homan couldn’t be contacted for comment.

Patel and Deputy AG Todd Blanche called it a baseless review from the prior administration, with no evidence of crimes. They stressed focusing on real dangers instead.

Origins of the Case

The inquiry began in August 2024, late in Joe Biden’s term, from a separate security check. A subject kept mentioning Homan’s supposed bribe-taking for contracts.

This led to the setup where Homan was recorded getting the cash at a Cava restaurant.

Homan’s Role and Response

Homan manages Trump’s large-scale deportation efforts. The White House said he hasn’t handled any contracts.

Spokesperson Abigail Jackson hailed him as a dedicated public servant doing great work for Trump and America.

Early Grand Jury Stage

A Texas grand jury was just starting when Trump retook office in January. Emil Bove, then acting deputy AG and now a judge, got briefed in February. He called it a “deep state” ploy by hidden bureaucrats.

Political Accusations

Patel and Blanche labeled it a partisan attack on Trump’s circle by Biden’s Justice Department. Homan, who led ICE under Obama and Trump, ran a consulting firm during Trump’s out-of-office years, aiding firms with immigration deals.

Sting Recording Details

In the recording, Homan said he’d hold the money in trust until his Trump service ended, a source revealed.

Soon after, Bove dropped charges against NYC Mayor Eric Adams, leading to prosecutor resignations. The corruption unit involved was mostly disbanded.

Homan’s Background

Homan served as ICE acting director in Trump’s first term and under Obama. His consulting focused on securing government immigration work during the four-year gap.
