France Plans Evacuation for Citizens in Israel and Iran

France is set to assist its citizens stranded in Israel and Iran amid a tense week marked by escalating strikes between the two long-standing adversaries.

The French foreign minister, Jean-Noël Barrot, made the announcement on Thursday, outlining a detailed evacuation strategy designed to ensure the safety of French nationals in the region.

Convoys to Borders and Special Flights Arranged

According to Barrot, French citizens currently in Iran without access to personal means of travel will be provided with a convoy that will take them to the Turkish or Armenian borders.

These routes offer access to airports in neighboring countries, making it easier for the nationals to exit the region safely.

The operation is expected to be carried out before the end of the week, ensuring that vulnerable citizens, particularly those in emergency situations, are prioritized during the evacuation.

Similarly, in Israel plan is being rolled out.

Starting Friday morning, French citizens near the Jordanian border will be able to board buses headed toward airports in Jordan.

A chartered flight from Amman will be organized by week’s end to support those who need immediate assistance or are considered high-risk.

France Stresses Commitment to Two-State Solution

Beyond the evacuation plans, Barrot also took the opportunity to reaffirm France’s diplomatic stance in the Middle East.

He reiterated France’s commitment to organizing a peace conference centered on a two-state solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

A previously scheduled conference was postponed earlier this week due to the heightened military activity between Israel and Iran.

However, Barrot emphasized that the initiative has not been abandoned and remains a priority for the French government.

Rising Regional Instability Raises Global Concern

The recent flare-up between Israel and Iran has drawn international attention, with global powers urging restraint and diplomatic dialogue.

France’s decision to evacuate its citizens underscores the growing concern over the security and stability of the region, particularly for foreign nationals.

While no direct attacks on French citizens have been reported, the government’s proactive stance reflects a cautious approach to ensure that its nationals are not caught in the crossfire.

Final Preparations Underway

Barrot assured the public that all necessary preparations are being made in coordination with diplomatic and security services in Turkey, Armenia, and Jordan.

He also encouraged French citizens in the affected regions to register with local embassies and follow official guidance as the situation evolves.
