Morocco’s King Honors New Military Officers in 2025 Ceremony

On Wednesday, King Mohammed VI presided over a traditional ceremony at the Royal Palace in Tetouan, celebrating Morocco’s newest military officers.

Joined by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid, the King led the oath-taking event at Mechouar Square, welcoming officers from elite military and paramilitary academies.

Tribute to Princess Lalla Latifa

The King named this year’s graduating class after Princess Lalla Latifa, honoring Moroccan mothers for shaping citizens rooted in national values. This gesture highlights the monarchy’s focus on family as the foundation of society.

Ceremony Highlights and Traditions

After the national anthem and flag salute, King Mohammed VI addressed the officers and reviewed the troops alongside the royal princes.

The event showcased Morocco’s commitment to its armed forces and celebrated the graduates’ dedication to serving the nation.

Graduates from Top Academies

The new officers hail from Morocco’s premier defense institutions, including:

  • Royal Military Academy
  • Royal Air Academy
  • Royal Naval Academy
  • Royal School of Military Medical Services

The ceremony also recognized non-commissioned officers promoted to officer rank, reflecting Morocco’s investment in military leadership.
