Over 1.9 Million Nigerians Apply for Paramilitary Recruitment

The application portal for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) recruitment closed, on August 11, 2025, recording 1,911,377 applications nationwide.

This significant number reflects strong interest in paramilitary positions across Nigeria.

Kogi State Leads Applications

According to CDCFIB data, Kogi State topped the list with 116,188 applicants. Following closely, Kaduna State recorded 114,551 applicants, while Benue State had 110,583.

Together, these three states accounted for a large share of the total applications, highlighting regional enthusiasm for the roles.

Regional Disparities in Applications

The data revealed stark differences across states. For instance, Lagos State had only 14,216 applicants, and Bayelsa State recorded the lowest at 11,669.

In contrast, states like Rivers and Ebonyi also saw relatively low application numbers, underscoring uneven participation nationwide.

Next Steps for Applicants

The CDCFIB announced that shortlisted candidates will soon receive notifications.

“Applicants should regularly check their emails, text messages, and the official recruitment portal for updates,” the board advised.

This ensures candidates stay informed about the next phases of the process.

Looking Ahead

With nearly 2 million applicants, the 2025 paramilitary recruitment reflects Nigeria’s high demand for stable employment opportunities.

As the selection process continues, successful candidates will play a vital role in strengthening the nation’s security and public services.
