Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay posted a heartfelt message on Instagram on September 8, 2025, which many see as a reflection on her recent separation from music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.

The post has sparked widespread discussion among fans.

A Message of Strength

Annie shared a text image that read,

“I hope my daughter doesn’t accept things I’ve accepted, that she knows her worth from the start and that no matter what, she always has me in her corner.”

Fans believe this hints at the challenges she faced during her marriage to 2Baba, suggesting a focus on healing and guiding her daughters.

Public Confirmation of Split

Annie publicly acknowledged her separation at the 17th Headies Awards in Atlanta in May 2025.

While presenting an award with Farooq Oreagba, she started to say “Annie Idi…” but corrected herself to “Annie Macaulay.”

She then shouted, “Hey, single ladies!” earning cheers from the crowd. The moment marked her first clear public statement about the split.

A High-Profile Marriage Ends

2Baba announced the end of their marriage in January 2025, closing a chapter on a relationship many viewed as a Nollywood fairy tale.

The couple, married in a grand 2013 ceremony, share two daughters but faced years of public scrutiny. 2Baba’s relationships with Pero Adeniyi and Sunmbo Adeoye, with whom he has four other children, often fueled gossip and controversy.

Moving Forward

Annie’s Instagram post signals a shift toward her children and personal strength. Fans see it as both a subtle nod to her past struggles and a commitment to teaching her daughters self-respect.

The message resonates with many, highlighting her journey toward healing after a turbulent marriage.
