Born in 1946 in Ondo State, Sunday Adegeye, known as King Sunny Adé, is a singer and multi-instrumentalist.
He pioneered African pop’s global reach. His 1980 album Syncro System earned Nigeria’s first Grammy nod. Adé’s accolades include the Hard Rock Café Hall of Fame (2016) and Headies Hall of Fame (2021).
