Content creator Folorunsho Olayinka, known as Finest, revealed that comedian Adetola Samad, aka Sanku, crashed in a borrowed 2012 Lexus RX 350 he was supposed to swap for a cheaper model in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Finest, who acted as guarantor, shared details during a Monday TikTok live after rumors linked him to the accident.
Loan Details Emerge
Finest said Sanku told him about buying the SUV for N25.4 million. A June 5, 2025, receipt from JJ Motors Empire and Services Limited showed Sanku paid N7 million initially, then installments totaling N12.28 million.
“I just guaranteed the loan because the dealer trusted me,” Finest explained. “I didn’t push him to Ilorin; he asked for a driver, which I arranged.”
Denying Accusations
Finest rejected claims of foul play. “Why would I want harm to someone owing N13 million that I guaranteed?” he asked.
“I don’t even know the driver. Sanku wouldn’t want his private matters aired, but I had to speak since I’m being blamed.” He shared voice notes of Sanku thanking him.
Family’s Response to Crash
Finest sent relatives and colleagues to the Ogbomoso Road crash site in Oyo State on September 2, 2025. “At the hospital, they delayed treatment, so I wired money for care,” he added.
Friend’s Counter Claim
A friend of Sanku, speaking anonymously due to sensitivity, disputed Finest’s account. Sanku faced demands to return the Lexus for a used Toyota Venza over a N2.3 million balance.
In a WhatsApp audio, Sanku mentioned constant calls but said his Osogbo policeman uncle advised against it, fearing a trick to seize the car without replacement.
Sanku’s Final Post
Actor Yemi Elesho confirmed Sanku’s death on social media. Days before, on June 6, 2025, Sanku posted TikTok photos of the Lexus, captioning, “Alhamdullilah for life, congratulations Adetola,” tagging Finest as the dealer.
The dispute highlights tensions in Sanku’s final days, leaving questions about the loan and crash unresolved.
