Africa’s job market is growing fast. In 2025, some countries offer great pay. This list shows the top 10 nations by average monthly salary, based on 2025 economic data.

Pay depends on jobs, skills, and cities, but these averages shine a light. From North to South, here’s where workers earn the most.

1. Morocco: $1,657 Monthly

Morocco leads with $1,657 average pay. IT and tourism jobs in cities like Casablanca push wages up. The median is $1,743, the highest in Africa. In 2025, the minimum wage hit $316, up 5%, giving workers more hope.

2. South Africa: $1,650 Monthly

South Africa’s average is $1,650. Pretoria ($1,546) and Cape Town ($1,450) lead with finance and tech jobs. Minimum wage is $1,435, but skilled workers earn over $2,000. The economy’s rebound in 2025 keeps pay steady.

3. Tunisia: $1,348 Monthly

Tunisia averages $1,348. IT jobs hit $1,411, with a median of $1,743. Minimum wage is $147, but cities pay more. A 7.5% wage hike in 2025 fights 3.7% inflation.

4. Kenya: $619 Monthly

Kenya’s average is $619. Nairobi matches this, with tech jobs up to $1,135. Minimum wage is $45, set to rise to $62 in 2025. The economy’s 5% growth lifts wages.

5. Algeria: $317 Monthly

Algeria averages $317. Public jobs pay $447, private $259. Median is $400, with oil jobs paying more. Minimum wage stays at $147 in 2025, but gaps remain.

6. Namibia: $428 Monthly

Namibia’s average is $428. Cities pay $1,000, led by mining and finance. Minimum wage is $187, up in 2025. Stable costs help wages go further.

7. Botswana: $500 Monthly

Botswana averages $500. Mining jobs pay $700, formal sector $428. Minimum wage is $68, rising in 2025. Low inflation keeps money strong.

8. Seychelles: $1,343 Monthly

Seychelles shines at $1,343, thanks to tourism. Minimum wage is $2.90/hour, or $500 monthly. Entry-level jobs pay $890, experienced roles $2,828.

9. Gabon: $500 Monthly
