Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi praised a US-led Gaza ceasefire plan proposed by President Donald Trump. He spoke as Hamas, Israel, and US negotiators met in Egypt.

They aim to secure a hostage-prisoner swap and a truce. Sisi shared his support during a speech marking the 1973 war with Israel. That conflict freed the Sinai Peninsula.

Path to Lasting Peace

Sisi outlined steps for the Gaza ceasefire plan. These include halting fighting, freeing captives, rebuilding Gaza, and pushing for Palestinian statehood.

“This approach fosters lasting regional stability,” he said. The 1973 war led to the 1979 Camp David Accords. Egypt became the first Arab nation to normalize ties with Israel. Sisi called the accords a model for peace.

Justice Drives True Peace

“Forceful peace sparks conflict,” Sisi noted. “However, justice-based agreements create harmony.” His words stress fairness in the Gaza ceasefire plan.

Egypt’s role as a mediator remains crucial. The nation works with Qatar and the US to bridge gaps between Israel and Hamas.

Egypt’s Firm Stance on Security

Egypt opposes any forced displacement of Palestinians into its territory. Sisi warned such moves threaten national security.

“Our military will protect our borders,” he declared. Egypt’s resolve strengthens its mediation efforts in the Gaza ceasefire plan.

Strong Egypt-US Ties

Since the Camp David Accords, Egypt has received significant US military aid. This support has built decades of security cooperation with Israel. These ties aid Egypt’s role in Gaza peace talks.

Hope for Gaza’s Future

Sisi’s backing of Trump’s Gaza ceasefire plan signals optimism. Ongoing talks could free hostages and end conflict. A successful deal may reshape the Middle East’s future.
