Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has officially received her second plaque from Guinness World Records. The new accolade recognizes her achievement for creating the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.
The record was formally confirmed by the organization. It involved cooking a massive 8,780 kilograms (19,356 pounds) of jollof during a public cookout event held in Lagos in September.
This second plaque arrives approximately a year and a half after her first record. Her initial title was earned in May 2023 for successfully completing a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon.
Consequently, Hilda Baci now stands as Nigeria’s first and most decorated chef to hold multiple Guinness World Records.
Plaques Symbolize Faith and National Pride
Hilda Baci shared photographs of both plaques on her social media channels. She celebrated the journey of faith and national pride that she noted had reached over five billion people through her corporate partnership.
She wrote: “Your plaques are finally here!!! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria. And not just any records — two of the biggest culinary records ever set.”
She emphasized the impact of the achievement: “Together with Gino, we created something bigger than ourselves a story that reached over 5 billion people and reminded the world what’s possible when passion meets purpose. I’m a two-time world record holder, someone pinch me.”
Baci referenced scripture in her post, expressing deep gratitude for the double success: “A two time Guinness World Record Holder !!! Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion… And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours. Isaiah 61:7.”
Meeting Standards and Philanthropic Distribution
To meet all verification standards, every portion of the massive jollof dish was meticulously managed. The entire creation was distributed to event guests and various charitable organizations across the city.
